Perform or perish…

Nothing wrong with the statement “Perform or perish” as long as the following conditions are met:

1. Defined business goals that are SMART

1. The Tools, procedures, processes and infrastructure required to perform and attain the SMART goals

1. The teams and individuals are motivated to perform and Organization morale supports performance that achieves business goals

1. Training and awareness (and experience as appropriate) for the skills required to perform

If any one of the above critical success factors are missing, it may become difficult to remain compliant with the expression “perform or perish.”
